If you’re serious about how your 996/997/986/987/991/981 handles, you should upgrade the factory tie rods with an adjustable front bump steer kit. There is one major drawback to the factory tie rods, bump steer. Bump steer results from a tie rod that is angled from the steering rack to the spindle. An angled tie rod end will have a larger horizontal travel distance than the rest of the suspension, compared to a level link. What this essentially results in is unintended steering input or kickback through the wheel when encountering bumps, or any kind of weight transfer which results in more or less loading at the front end.
Rennline's adjustable bump steer kits solve this problem. Manufactured from 6061 aluminum and featuring a turnbuckle design that allow each arm to be lengthened or shortened as needed to restore proper suspension geometry on a lowered Porsche. A number of spacers are also included and can be added or removed accordingly to get a level tie rod for your vehicles specific ride height. The FK Teflon-lined rod end bearings ensure precision handling and lock in your car’s alignment settings, ensuring predictable cornering under all conditions. Rubber Boots to protect the spherical from dirt, dust and debris not included but available as an option, and highly encouraged.
